We knew this day would come. We just didn't know it would be so soon.
We told Jack that these were his soopa-hero glasses, and he was actually pretty cool with it. He would tell people that these were his Cyclops glasses, and he had super powers. When asked which super powers Cyclops had, Jack responded that he could read people's minds. (Not really, at least, I hope not.)
Wait, does that mean that someday I will need glasses, too? Yes, Cal, it probably does. Sorry buddy.
Jack. Such a silly boy.
And this little trouble maker. He will someday join the four-eyes club, too.

Tee Ball

Jack did tee ball this year, and he loved it.  I love the people watching at the ball park.
 Like this kid.
I think Jack may have actually hit the ball on this hit, and not the tee.
Jack is still our gentle giant, standing just a bit taller than the other kids.
Those are prescription sunglasses by the way. He can't outrun his family genetics, and with Heather and I both being glasses and contacts wearers, we knew it was only a matter of time before he would have to join the 4 eyes club.
Jack loved to tell knock knock jokes to his friends on the the team.

If Dada had to work, then the Mama would have to haul all the kids to the game, which meant lots o snack for the Ezra monster, in the stroller.
 Swing batter batter!
 Oh, look, an action shot!
 Bebe got blanket time.

Mini McEuen Reunion Photos

Every year around summer time, we have the pleasure of having our Washington state family come to visit us. And when they do come down, we like to get family pictures.
We also took the opportunity to take some 'just us' shots.

The happy couple. No, I'm not pregnant, but thanks for asking. Sheesh.
Love these kiddos. They are all right.

Ezra and the Dishwasher

Sounds like a children's storybook title, doesn't it? The main character, Ezra, goes on his hero quest where the main antagonist, the dishwasher, poses a threat and must therefore be conquered. Here's how it goes (with photo illustrations)

^Once upon a Time, there was this dishwasher that ruled the kitchen. Mom was a slave to it; constantly feeding it and removing things from its innards. She didn't think she could go on and desperately needed some rescuing. Then Ezra took a look and knew he could be the one to defeat this monster.

^Oh no, maybe it's not going as well as we thought. He might not pull through! Looks as if the mighty dishwasher is winning.

^Ezra, the Hero! He has conquered the villainous cleaner of dirty dishes!

This may take some maintenance after all, but this guy's got it covered. Of course Ezra The Hero received many hugs and smoochies from a grateful and relieved Mommy.
The End

Calvin's Blessing

February 5, 2012
Jason gave Calvin Rafael Acosta his official name and blessing in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Since we waited so long to do Ezra's and he had almost completely outgrown the blessing suit, we blessed Cal at the first opportunity (generally the first Sunday of the month is set aside for baby blessings). Some friends and a few family members were present for the occasion and then we went home for a nice meal.

Here's the happy little guy in his Blessing outfit with a long-sleeve onesie underneath. It was February after all.

Ezra and Cal

I love watching Ezra interact with Calvin, at a very close distance of course. And, because of my love for icanhazcheezburger, you get captions too.

Mom, what? Sit here with this?

Oh, it's you. You crying? Again?

Here, have some loves. Always makes me feel better. Calvin: Mmmmmff

There. See? All better.
